How to pitch your brand story in five sentences

Editors read a lot of pitches. The ones that stand out are short, specific and easy to check.

1. Say what you make, plainly

Start with one sentence a stranger understands: what the product is and who it is for. "We make refillable dish soap for small kitchens" works better than "We are reinventing home care."

2. Say what is new

Tell us what changed recently. A launch, a first shop, a new product line, a crowdfunding campaign or a move to a new city gives a story a reason to exist now. Add the date.

3. Say who is behind it

Readers like to know who made something and why. One or two lines about the founders and the moment the idea started are usually enough.

4. Give one detail nobody else has

A number, a setback, a supplier you had to find, a customer who surprised you. One concrete detail does more than a list of adjectives.

5. Make it easy to check

Include your website and, if possible, a link to a public source such as a press release or a news article. We check facts with you before anything is published, so accurate details save everyone time.

That is all we need to start. Pitch your story for free.
