How we choose startups.

We only feature startups we believe in. Here is what that means in practice: what we look for, how a story is made and why coverage is never for sale.

What we look for

Young and European. Startups and new brands based in the European Union, the United Kingdom, Switzerland or Norway, usually a few years old at most, or with a product that just launched.

A clear problem. We should be able to explain what the company does, and for whom, in one sentence.

Something new. A launch, a new product, a funding round or a first milestone worth telling people about.

Real and checkable. A working product or website, named founders, and facts we can confirm in public sources.

From AI software to food, energy and everyday products: the sector does not matter. The idea and the people behind it do. Read more in What we look for in a new brand.

What we do not cover

Anyone who offers to pay for a story. Companies owned by the people who run Meet New Brands. Claims we cannot check. Products we would not be comfortable recommending to a friend.

How a story is made

1. We find it. From funding news, launches and the pitches founders send us. Every pitch is read; publication is never guaranteed.

2. We research it. We use public sources such as the company website, announcements and reliable news sites, and link the source for every fact.

3. We check it. A full story about one startup is checked with the founders before it goes live. Roundups and lists are based on public announcements, and founders can ask for a correction at any time.

4. We keep it current. Running lists, like new AI startups in the Netherlands, show when they were last updated.

Independent, always

We never charge for an article or a listing, and we do not use affiliate links. When a story goes live, we ask the founder to repost it on their personal LinkedIn. That is a request, not a condition, and it never decides who we write about. If we ever publish anything commercial, it will be clearly labelled. More in Why we never take paid placements.
