Between 13 and 20 October 2026, five young European startups announced funding or a major contract: Vessla (Stockholm) for AI agents in property management, Unravel Health (London) for at-home hormone testing, Siloton (Bristol) for handheld eye imaging, Plinto (Copenhagen) for automated financial controls and Holo (Lithuania) for AI marketing for small businesses. Below is what each one does, for whom, and what is new, based on public announcements. In het Nederlands: Vijf nieuwe Europese startups om te kennen. På svenska: Fem nya europeiska startups att känna till.

Vessla: AI agents for property operations

Vessla, from Stockholm, builds what it calls an agentic operating system for property operations. It connects the systems property teams already use (Microsoft 365, property management, ERP and CRM software, plus calls, contracts and files), and its AI agents read documents, surface obligations, set reminders and prepare work that people then review. It is aimed at property owners and operators. Founded in 2026 and led by CEO Orman Gazvini and CTO Kasper Janehag, it came out of stealth on 19 October 2026 with a 2.94 million euro (3.3 million dollar) pre-seed round led by Seedcamp, with Inception Fund and Tiny VC among the other investors. Unravel Health: a palm-sized hormone lab for the home

Unravel Health, from London, is a women's health startup developing the Micro Lab, a palm-sized device that reads several hormones from a saliva sample in minutes, so women can track their hormones at home. Founded in 2024 by Veronika Bridgman (CEO), Liza Levy and Dr Alexandra Oti, it announced a 2.5 million pound (about 2.96 million euro) round on 16 October 2026, led by Conduit EIS Impact Fund and Wrightwood, with Leo Capital, Embryo Ventures, Hermesa and returning investor Zinc VC. Siloton: eye scans from a photonic chip

Siloton, from Bristol, makes miniaturised optical imaging technology: photonic chips and optical coherence tomography (OCT) systems that help detect and monitor eye conditions such as macular degeneration and glaucoma. Founded in 2020 and led by CEO Alasdair Price, it announced on 19 October 2026 that it won an 8.4 million pound (about 9.98 million euro) contract from Innovate UK, under the Contracts for Innovation: Quantum Missions Primer programme, to develop its handheld eye imaging system. Plinto: checking every transaction against the contract

Plinto, from Copenhagen, builds AI agents that check financial transactions against contracts, budgets and internal policies, catch errors such as duplicate invoices or wrong prices, and help fix them. It sits on top of a company's existing ERP and is meant for finance and operations teams with high transaction volumes, for example in logistics, real estate, facility services and food production. Founded in early 2025 by Nermina Suljevic (CEO), Jakob Nielsen and Sebastian Rehnby, it announced 2.9 million euro from People Ventures and Emblem on 20 October 2026. Website: plinto.ai. Holo, from Lithuania, is an AI marketing platform for small businesses and founders. It reads a company's website, plans marketing, and writes ads, social posts, emails and SEO content, which the owner can review or let run automatically. Founded in 2025, it announced a 5 million euro seed round on 15 October 2026, led by Market One Capital with Silicon Gardens, FirstPick, Leonis Capital, NGL, Tekton Ventures and business angels.
