FysioAgent wants physiotherapists to spend less time behind the screen

A former physiotherapist from Breda built an AI scribe that listens during treatments and writes the clinical notes, so therapists can focus on their patients.

After a full day of treatments, many physiotherapists still sit down to a pile of paperwork. Kim Driessen used to be one of them. Now his startup FysioAgent, from Breda in the Netherlands, builds an AI scribe that writes those notes for them.

What does FysioAgent do?

FysioAgent listens along during a consultation and turns the conversation into a complete, structured SOAP note, the standard report format in physiotherapy, ready for the therapist to review and sign off. It runs in the browser, so there is nothing to install, and each therapist can tailor the writing style to their own way of reporting. Links with the patient record systems physiotherapists use are in development, according to the company.

Built by someone from the field

Driessen studied physiotherapy at the Thim van der Laan school and worked as a physiotherapist for years before starting FysioAgent. That shows in the product: instead of a general medical template, it follows how physiotherapists actually work and report.

How it handles patient data

Patient data is sensitive, and FysioAgent says it has built the product around that. According to the company, it is GDPR-compliant (AVG in Dutch), stores all data within Europe, never uses patient data to train AI and includes a data processing agreement. Practices can try it free for 14 days and then pay a fixed monthly fee.

Why now?

Speech recognition and language models have only recently become good enough to turn a natural conversation into an accurate clinical note. At the same time, care providers are under more pressure than ever, and every minute a physiotherapist spends on reporting is a minute not spent with a patient.

What is next?

FysioAgent says it already has paying practices and pilots running at several more. It is part of the Bwise accelerator, and the team will be at the KNGF FysioCongres on 6 November 2026, at stand 19.

"I want physiotherapists to get back to what they chose this profession for: helping people move," says Driessen.
